Hold a master's degree or higher in fields related to communicative sciences or disorders. The program should be accredited by the national accrediting group and recognized by the United States secretary of education under the Higher Education Act of 1965 and approved by the commission or department. Provide a transcript from a public or private university showing successful completion of the specified courses:
● Normal development and the use of speech, language, and hearing.
● The evaluation, habilitation, and rehabilitation of speech, language, and hearing disorders.
● Speech-language pathology clinical practitioners' work is supported by related professions. Have successfully completed at least 36 semester hours in courses that the college or university where the courses are taken accepts as credit toward a graduate degree, with at least 24 of those hours having to be in the profession for which the speech language pathology license Texas requires is sought. Have accrued the minimum number of hours of supervised clinical practice. Individuals should present a range of communication impairments, as set forth by the commission by rule.
